Award-Nominated Gospel Artist and Educator Tevis Harris Releases Powerful New Worship Anthem Calling Families to Choose Christ

ROCKY MOUNT, NC — August 14, 2026 — Award-nominated gospel recording artist, worship leader, educator, and speaker Dr. Tevis Harris announces the release of his newest contemporary Christian worship single, As For Me And My House, available on all major digital streaming platforms beginning August 14, 2026.

Inspired by Joshua 24:15, the song is more than a worship anthem—it is a declaration of faith for families, churches, and communities seeking to place Christ at the center of their homes.

 

"As For Me And My House is ultimately about one house, one decision, and one declaration," says Harris. "My prayer is that this song becomes more than something people listen to. I pray it becomes something families live every day."

 

What makes the song especially meaningful is how it came to life.

 

Originally, Harris was asked by longtime friend and songwriter Demetric Smith to help write a contemporary Christian song based on Joshua 24:15. His role was simply to contribute lyrics, melodies, harmonies, and lead vocals.

 

But as he spent days praying over the Scripture, reflecting on the lyrics, and allowing the music to develop naturally, something unexpected happened.

 

"The more I prayed, the more I realized this wasn't just another songwriting opportunity," Harris recalls. "I felt God impressing upon my heart that this wasn't simply a song to help write—it was a message I was called to carry."

 

Although the original intention was to give the song to another artist, the overwhelming response from trusted friends, ministry leaders, mentors, and radio personalities confirmed what Harris already sensed in his spirit: this was the song he was meant to release.

 

From there, the vision expanded.

 

The arrangement grew.

 

The choir was added.

 

The production became richer.

 

Every musical decision was made with one purpose in mind—to create a worship experience that encourages families to boldly declare their faith together.

 

Produced by Harris under his independent label Forever Harris, As For Me And My House represents a new chapter in his musical journey. After earning national recognition through gospel music—including numerous award nominations, radio features, magazine interviews, and television appearances—this release marks his first contemporary Christian worship single.

 

Outside of music, Dr. Harris serves as Principal in Halifax County, North Carolina, where he is recognized for transformational leadership and expanding opportunities for students. As an educator, author, speaker, and worship leader, his ministry has always centered on strengthening people, developing leaders, and building stronger families.

Gospel musician, independent recording artist, and school administrator, Tevis Harris along with his recording group faVor, a group that comprises his family and friends, will debut their upcoming new singles “Dear Jesus” and “It WIll Work Out” in live concert entitled “Keep Winning Live 2.0” featuring gospel renowned artists Vincent Bohanan, Kim Person, Pastor Luther Barnes, and the brand new 252 Community Choir in Rocky Mount, NC on August 5, 2022 at 7:00 PM at Truth Tabernacle Ministries Church, 704 Arlington St., Rocky Mount, NC 27801. Tevis Harris & faVor’s single “Begin Again” feat. Wanda Barnes has gained national attention and has received numerous music award nominations in several categories. In 2021, the group received a personal invite from prestigious music organizations and Stellar Award winning and syndicated radio stations and personalities to perform during the Stellar Award Weekend Pre-show performances. Recently, the group performed on the main stage at the Rhythm of Gospel Music Awards in Jacksonville, FL.

 

This is Tevis Harris & faVor’s second live concert appearance. The group will sing many of the songs from the “Keep Winning” album and debut their new singles “Dear Jesus” and “It Will Work Out” scheduled to release on all digital platforms in August and the late summer of 2022. Tevis Harris & faVor are also open for booking and are scheduled to perform in many church services and concert venues over the next several weeks. A portion of the proceeds from this year’s 2.0 concert will be donated to Ripple Effects, a local charity that is a community collaboration hub, that offers resource counseling, life skills workshops, case management, and other services designed to address holistic wellness.
